Rising Stars: Hospital High School’s "Nyari Echoes" Take Center Stage in Bungoma

The spirit of artistic excellence is burning bright as learners from across the country gather at Kibabii University in Bungoma County for the 98th edition of the Kenya Music Festival. Among the standout participants captivating audiences this year is Hospital High School’s choral verse group, affectionately known as Nyari Echoes.

The journey to the national stage has been one of dedication and triumph. Nyari Echoes showcased remarkable consistency and artistic growth, successfully navigating through the highly competitive county and regional levels to secure their spot at the nationals in Bungoma. Their performance is a testament to the power of choral verse—a unique blend of poetry, drama, and synchronised movement that serves as a vibrant vehicle for the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum.

The group’s success would not have been possible without the unwavering support of their dedicated school leadership and mentors. Much appreciation goes to their patrons, Ms. Catherine Wanjiru Kahuha, Ms. Jean Waiganjo and Mr. Michael Ouma, whose guidance and commitment ensured the students were prepared to face the national stage with confidence.

Central to the group’s polished delivery and creative flair is their trainer, Mr. Migeke. His mentorship has been instrumental in honing the students' talents, helping them translate complex themes into performances that resonate with both judges and spectators.
