Cashless transactions for a safe, convenient school experience.
Hospital Hill went cashless from Term 3, which began on 10 May 2021. Students no longer use cash on the school premises — pocket money is held on a Co-operative Bank Visa Smart Card that parents top up from their phones.
Cashless transactions at Hospital Hill
Key points
No cash allowed: to keep the school safe and efficient, students should not bring cash to school.
Visa Co-operative Bank Smart Cards: every student must have one. Parents or guardians load pocket money onto the card using Lipa na M-Pesa.
Canteen access: only students with a valid Co-operative Visa card can use the school canteen — please make sure your son carries his card at all times.
Attach clear copies of your National ID card or passport and your KRA PIN certificate.
Have the completed form endorsed (stamped) at the school, then submit it to Co-operative Bank, Gigiri branch.
A processing fee of KES 600 applies for the Visa card.
Confirmation & deposits
Once you have applied, the bank will send you an SMS with the paybill and account number to use when depositing your son's pocket money.
New parents/guardians: download the application form, attach the documents listed above and bring the completed form to the school for official stamping before going to the Co-operative Bank.
